The BA Table of contents extension is the most flexible way to insert a TOC in your articles.

Inserting a table of contents with the auto-insert

The extension is always inserted on all articles of your site, but you can also freely choose to show only on a few articles or automatically hide on a few articles.

From the settings page, under the AUTO-INSERT lable, Insert the table of contents in the desired position. There are by default five options for automatic insertion.

  1. Before first heading
  2. After first heading
  3. After the first paragraph
  4. Top
  5. Bottom

Alternately, you can use advanced rules to include or exclude specific articles in the auto-insert.

The feature allows users to specific the automatic generation of TOC for specific articles within the application. This feature gives users more control over the display of TOC and helps in customizing the behavior of the plugin.

Inserting a table of contents with the shortcode

The shortcode is a manual selection to insert the TOC into your site. It is a great choice for inserting TOC into any component or module.

The default shortcode is [ba_toc]
(without spaces).

You can override any setting from the global settings using shortcode parameters.
